It seemed to be the logical thing to do at the time.
Here's this internet account with a few megs of server
disk space just sitting there taking up [cyber]space.
Can't let that happen. Not in a thousand light years. Not
as long as hackers still walk this earth, and nerds
still stare at the sky wondering if there is life on other planets
and if it would go out with them. Not as long
as there are bytes to be bitten and data to be written. Not as
long as...well, you get the picture.
So, with a FREE evening, I used my FREE copy of Netscape
4.51 with its FREE Composer program
to write a FREE web page, and uploaded it to the FREE disk space available
with my ISP account.
It was easy, and didn't require learning HTML (you know, all that gibberish
that looks like "href=whatever
face=ugly nbsp nbsp /body /head /butt"
and so on.) It also didn't require mass quantities of aspirin.
The results? A web site that loads great and
is less cache filling. A web site that will make you laugh,
but not cry (unless two extra
terrestrials getting married brings tears to your eyes.)
A web site to
display my hobbies
and my work.
A web site to display my writing
talents and views
on the issues-
who knows, with all the search engines out there, the right person
may see it!
A web site that is just plain fun.
