Flying Home

June 21 finds us speeding on our way from Elmira, NY at 6:30 AM with a fly by at Burlington, VT and Pittsfield, ME. We landed at about 10 AM in Bangor, ME to check out weather in Saint John, New Brunswick. Fog and ceilings are an issue for us. After a wonderful lunch and a check of the weather, we decide to push on to Saint John with a 5:30 PM departure. Near Princeton, ME we encounter rain showers but no trouble passing by them. Woo hoo we flew the finish timing line and are done. About 20 of us arrive on Thursday. The rest tried on Friday with a few deciding to go home early. Too much weather on Friday.



The 5 PM deadline comes and goes with a few airplanes still waiting on Friday to arrive. Classic 1 chooses to drive from Bangor. Others choose to arrive Saturday morning from Princeton. Even though they did not finish, they are winners by choosing the safest flight.

       
       
       
       
       

We did not get the early morning call for Top 12 inspections, but we flew a fun and clean race. We will learn Sunday who the winners are.
