Our main goal is to see that there are no hungry people in Juneau. We’re been in existence since 1983, have been
known as Helping Hands for eight years. We are a member of United Way .
Our organization has been supplying the families
in our area with donations from local grocery stores and corporate donations. Through these donations we provide food items
to the public by opening our doors on a twice a week basis, along with frequent shipments to outlying communities. We also
service students from our local university, low income housing, Southeast Alaska Guidance Association, and two local churches.
We have been able to provide this service at no cost and with dignity to these people in need. At our distribution site, we
service 400 people a week. Many of them may be your neighbors or friends, or maybe they are complete strangers to you. All
of them deserve our respect. We are staffed solely by volunteers, who put many hours into making this program a success. Any
help that you could give us would be greatly appreciated and also tax deductible. Thank you in advance from the hard working
volunteers of Helping Hands.
