The Bachmann 2-6-0 tender sits far too low on its trucks. Generally speaking the tender deck and cab apron should be reasonably in the same plane, which is not the case with this model. The above view shows the cure for this: correct, protoypical Colorado and Southern Railway trucks on 26" diameter wheelsets, raise the tender to its proper height.

The trucks are available less wheels, and with bolsters for eithe rOn3 or On30: #1087 is the part number of On3; #1089 is for On30. Either gauge truck is $16.95 msrp. Wheelsets in either gauge are readily available from Northwest Short Line.

Many other stock Back Shop items will fir the locomotive directly or with a little modification. Among them would be our selection of whistles, bells, stacks, marker lamps, boiler braces, checks, air compressors and the like. For the cab interior, we have firedoors, quadrants, brake valves, lubricators, etc.

Further detailing parts for the tender would include water valves, air tanks, tool bax, air hoses, stays, even a coal shovel.
