Thought-Provoking

This article is fairly long, and you may want to save it for your lunch hour or print it out for later reading. It is a quite thought-provoking look at the Culture Wars and parallel subjects. I don't necessarily agree with everything that the man has to say, but it IS something to start the thought processes off in other directions not yet explored.

Protests

OK, you saw the "anti-war" rally or whatever it was, on last night's newscasts. Now, contrast that "reporting" to this. Quite a difference, eh? I wonder why? Does "agenda" enter the picture?

Yet another Forbes' List?

You have probably seen some of the Forbes' lists, like the 400 richest people in the world and so forth. Now comes the end-all list, the top money earners for the year, except they are DEAD. Elvis is the top money-earner, at $40 million. Pretty cool.

IRAQ

I've added a new link at right, Healing Iraq. It's been an interesting read so far. Do some browsing to see his take on biased media reporting, and discussion about various personalities and factions: political, religious and ethnic. Also check some of the links for varying other points of view. You will not see this stuff on the alphabet networks evening news casts.

Winers and Losers

WINNERS: The people of California, Constitutional law and Arnold.

LOSERS: Just about everyone else---The L.A. Times, the Clintons, the DNC, the nine dwarfs, Indian "Gaming" interests, the unions, the National Media (who never did quite get it), ACLU, in fact, every usual suspect you could name when it comes to "Special Interest."

It's Almost Over

Well, a few more hours, and it's a done deal. I'm referring to the Recall and Replacement election. Unfortunately, whatever the outcome, this isn't the end of everything by a long shot. Biggest loser in this affair is the Los Angeles Times, by injecting themselves into an election in such a partsian way, they lost a great deal of credibility. And, in an election which was supposed to be anti-establishment, it sure ended up very establishment with typical Gray Davis smears and his traditional "puke politics." Fitting............

Late Hit

As predicted by George Will, Mickey Kaus and others, the Democrats, er, the L.A. Times unleased the last-minute hit piece today. I've read it and it's sloppy journalism, full of undocumented allegations. Arnold issued a generalized apology, which may or may not end the matter. Then, the story has to compete with "LeakGate" and the stuff swirling around Rush Limbaugh, so the Arnold story may be on page 23 as early as tomorrow. I have a hard time figuring out the throught processes involved with trying to make a connection between something from a long time ago, and present-day effectiveness or abilities. Let's hope people will see this stuff for what it is and if anything, make for even more pro-recall votes!
